How I got here
Living in the heart of Atlanta, where innovation thrives, I've always been driven to transform ordinary objects into extraordinary ones. My apartment was my sanctuary, but one household item always disrupted its harmony: the bath mat. Traditional mats felt perpetually damp and seemed to harbor bacteria, which I found unsettling every time I stepped out of the shower.
Determined to find a better solution, I discovered stone bath mats made from diatomaceous earth. They were not only stylish and mold-resistant but also dried instantly. This was my lightbulb moment.
Inspired to blend my passion for writing with this innovative product, I started creating stone mats engraved with inspirational quotes. This idea led to the birth of my business, "Get NAKD." The name was a playful nod to undressing before a shower and symbolized the vulnerability required to venture into business.
"Get NAKD" started in my apartment but soon captured the hearts of many, turning a simple bathroom essential into a source of daily inspiration. Each mat, etched with thoughtful messages, was a piece of art, making every home a little more special.
As my business grew, so did my range of designs, allowing customers to personalize their mats. This wasn't just about selling a product; it was about fostering creativity and inspiration in every corner of one's home. "Get NAKD" became more than a business—it was a statement about embracing innovation and the beauty of simplicity.
